So how fun is this? Ethan got third place in a writting contest at school and it was in the local newspaper! There is a section in the paper for all the school's functions. I didn't even know he was in the paper. Tammy called me and asked me why didn't I tell her! Ethan wrote an essay thanking the veterans, and he was pretty excited to be the only boy to win. He also got $10 for the prize. Which he loved too, it is going toward his Lagoon ticket!

Pearl Harbor

I really enjoyed going to Pearl Harbor. It was amazing and emotional. I learned new things and saw neat things. Some great moments where meeting one of the last four survivor's of Pearl Harbor. James threw in his lei and it made a heart shape. Seeing the huge 1600 pound anchor that was thrown 200 feet by the explosion! Oil still leaks out today that they call "The Tear". Seeing Jesse salute the wall. I am very grateful for the men and women who serve our country today. It was a great part of the trip.

I can't believe we leave in 11 days! I am way excited and nervous. We are going to do things there I would never dream of. You will have to wait and see pictures to believe it. I should be cured of anxiety by the end of the trip! There is also a surprise I am so happy about. Last but not least, I can not wait to see you all at Macayos. This is going to be a great vacation.

So a friend of mine's daughter has fifth disease, or illness I should say, disease sounds so serious. Anyways it looks exactly like Kirsten's did and all of my kids got it but Ethan. Man that boy never gets sick. It is contagious and it has been going around. Weird huh? I hope nothing like that happens while we are gone.

So Kirsten broke out into a rash all over her body. You can't tell in the pictures, but she is RED

from head to toe. I don't know how or what happened, and the Dr. doesn't know either.

He said it doesn't look like a "normal" allergic reaction! Poor Kirsten, Utah hasn't been good to her this school year. She has like 10

absents. She can't wait for the snow to melt, then she'll be better. (her words) We love ya Kirsten and hope this passes soon.

Don't Pass Go, Don't Collect $100 Dollars. The new Sanpete County Jail opened. For $15 you could spend the night, have dinner, breakfast, mug shot, and a shirt. You know our family couldn't resist a once in a lifetime (better be) Kids 8 and up could go. "Inmates" just playing cards. Trecia's family even came.

Cedar City

I had four days off so we went to Cedar City for the weekend. It was a nice escape. We had so much to do, and not enough time. We made these cute magnet boards. Trecia always loves to do my hair and make up. I do to. She makes me look like a million bucks. Guitor Hero was a hit. I want one now. You know me and my guitar music. This is an easy, awesome, way to make bread.

I think we had a little too much fun shopping at the D.I.

You sure can find some interesting things.

Our family had a blast. Can't wait to see you guys again.

BTW Apples to Apples is a really funny game when your tired!

Happy 2009

So 2008 came and went with lots of changes. Change is inevitable. Let's just hope we grew from the unexpected ones. Ethan's hobbie has changed to outdoor sports. Kirsten's appearance changed, she lost two teeth. Dylan has changed into an older dare devil. Brooklyn can change into her own clothes. Dan's career has changed, and I wish sometimes I could change mine.

All in all our testimonies grew, we love our friends and famiy, and we are greatful for our bleesings. I hope 2009 comes with more joyful moments, and we continue to grow closer to Heavenly Father. Happy New Years!

We had a "NOON" Years Party for the kids. It's perfect the kids get to celebrate and then the adults go out at night! The kids were fun, a little loud, next time I will hand the horns out 5 minutes before noon, not right when they come, but definately worth it to be with them and ring in the new year!

I had a fun birthday WEEK with family. My mom took me to dinner, it was the kids recitals, my work xmas party and girls night out at Bunko. Dan got me a movie and this cake! Do you think he is excited for Hawaii?!! The sandals are magnets, and Chantelle gave me those cute magnets you make with clear rocks. Thanks I loved it.

The kids christmas recitals were fun. Something new for them, because in Vegas I don't think they had one? Do they celebrate Christmas in Vegas schools? I can't remember. Ethan's class did drumer boy with a high school kid playing the drum. It was really neat! Kirsten looked so bootiful (Brooklyn kept saying) She sang a beautiful song about baby Savior. I had never heard it before. It was really neat!

Dylan's play was about cutting xmas tree's, and singinng songs about the trees growing up to be something special. He was even the tree cutter! It was neat. My point with all the "it was neat" comments.... I was a very proud mom who cried! What's new? I'm getting worse!

Kirsten has been checking for loose teeth ever since Ethan lost his first tooth. But

how luck would have it, she had to have her first tooth and another pulled by the dentist at the same time. Her big teeth were growing in behind her baby teeth. I felt bad for her, it wasn't the tradional way, but the tooth fairy made up for that. Kirsten was a great sport and the dentist was very kid friendly.

So I am working 7 days straight, I need to reward myself for that, right? Well last night at work I saw my friend Wendy. She told me she would love to see Twilight again. She only saw it at the midnight showing (can you believe that!:)) So I said sure I'll love to see it with you again. So we went last night I got off early because I was working for another girl. The funny part isn't that it was my 5 time, but ooops I ate a KitKat and popcorn! Do you think I went over my calories for the day in just 10 minutes! DANG This calorie thing is making me STARVING!! But I haven't given up...stay tuned.

So I'm tired of looking plump. I am turning 32 and weigh 143. I'm not pregnant either! That's my pregnacny weight. So I need to do something about it. And for some reason in all group shots I'm front and center and saying HERE I AM! I know some of you think I'm crazy, but like I said I'm not pregnant and my baby is 3. So I am going to try a soup diet for 7 days and see if I notice anything. I will drink lots of water too, so it should be a win win for my skin, and body. I also will work out 30 min. a day. Okay Dan so I know I said I would only dedicate one blog for the B.D book, but I had to do it! Only 14 days until the movie. It has been fun. Meeting Stephenie Meyer, movie night to see Penelope for the Twilight Preview! All the fun times and endless hours of talking and interneting. Finally the movie is here. I'm just sorry I can't be in Vegas. I will have a good time here, and we're having a party! Thanks Trecia for MAKING me read the books. Are we still planning our girl trip to Oregon or Forks? Dylan's New Hair Cut!

So Dylan crashed in the mountains on his bike. I'm greatful for the holy ghost. I got the feeling to go check on the kids, and Ethan was running toward me telling me Dylan crashed and is bleeding on his head. He rubbed the skin off so there can be no stitches. Thanks to Ruby and Uncle Len they helped me nurse Dylan. Len cut his hair to see what was going on. So soon Dylan will have a buzz! Let's just hope before Disneyland. I tried to give him a bath and it bled again like crazy. So it needs time to heel better before we cut, or wash his hair. I wonder how many injuries we will have with our little Dill Pickle! Three and counting.

We love you guys and hope Montel has a safe and quick recovery. Update...A piece of equipment fell on Montel and shattered his knee. He is in Salt Lake and having reconstructive surgery.

The world around the Christensen's has been crazy. First Hawaii, then Dan's job, our home. Of course my bank Washington Mutual would go bankrupt, now walmart's 4o1k is going bankrupt! They keep saying we wont see any changes, but how can that be? So the real question I'm pondering.... If we are going into another depression shouldn't I be keeping my job? I feel like quiting. Over a year is really good! (for me:) I'm just discouraged with it ALL. Any advice? I know I have to figure it out on my own, I'm hoping typing it out and venting will help! :) I miss you guys

WOW! It was A LOT of fun. Seeing them live, and hearing the music pumping, definatley made me want to shake my thang! They were amazing. We were in row 4 and saw them well. I had fun with Kirsten. We both got spoiled. We played in the rain, went on bike rides, & a hike. Then got interupted with a bee sting. More medical drama. We couldn't tell what it was at first. Her leg got swollen, clear junk coming out of the bite, purple and red, she couldn't walk on it. So after tons of home remedies, ice, hydrocortisone cream, benydrol, motrine, and 18 hours it healed, sort of, and we continued on our fun weekend. Girls just want to have fun! I need to take turns with all of my children! I can't wait. P.S the song playing is for Kirsten. We watched Another Cinderella Story like 5 times.

The PTA put this save the planet, do your part activity this morning. ( save fuel, improve air quality, promote a healthy lifestyle) It was fun to ride with the kids. Boy do they get a work out everyday. My legs were jelly when we got there! It's only 1 mile! It was fun to see the parking lot empty. They had juice and bread waiting for us. I promise this put me in gear. I will loose 10lbs soon!

Ethan is playing flag football. He is doing well for the first time. He even caught the ball and ran! The team lost though, but they are trying to have fun. He's learning to not be such a poor sport. His uncle Matt is the coach and Dan is the assistant. He had a fun little cheering section. Grandpa came and bought Ethan some football gloves! ( I almost bustted out some old defense cheers!)

Brooklyn ate Vicks Vapor Rub this morning. Posion Control said if she ate up to 1 teaspoon at her age she could have a seizure. Well I could see it all over her shirt and smell it on her breath. The bottle also had 2 finger prints out of it. So I had no idea what she got and of course it could be possible up to 1 teaspoon. So they asked how far was the nearest hospital. I said 20 minutes they said an ambulance needs to pick her up because that is too long if she should start a seizure. (Did not help my anxiety) So we went to the hospital and sat for 2 hours to make sure she wouldn't have a seizure. Thank goodness she's okay. Is there a defiecency in the body for eating medicine you shouldn't? I promise this beautiful little girl of mine is going to kill me today! So the pictures aren't the best because they are off Dan's phone. He followed us on the way there. Brooklyn wasn't happy to be there, then they gave her a breathing treatment for her cough, the hole reason for the Vicks, and anywho she was hyper and happier than ever. Of course it was slow and all of the nurses wanted to come in and see the pretty girl with blue eyes. She came home with 2 stuffed animals! Oh Brooklyn please try to stay out of things.

Town Talk

So the latest and greatest gossip of a small town. A kid stole a derby car and crashed it into my uncles phone pole! They entire city was driving by our house. We live at the end of a dead end street. The sheriff even stopped by my other neighbors trying to find the driver he took off and was in hiding. This is the most excitment I've seen since I've been here. It doesn't top the idea of streaking down main street for fun! (Carol)

So I feel terrible for Dylan not to be able to start Kindergarten becuase of the move. My heart brakes, but he doesn't mind anymore. He gets to ride a bus to school. It's all good now. No I think this happend for a reason and it is probably good he will be an older student rather than young. Also his cousin Alexis will be with him. He enjoyed it and can't wait for field trips. I guess they will do one once a month! How cool is that.

So I think with all this spare time away from friends I want to learn to play some instruments. The piano and guitar. I love electric guitars and Dan doesn't. He picks at one that's not electric, and I told him to learn a little part from matchbox20 unwell. It's actually a banjo, maybe my mom could teach me. Did you know she plays? She also knows how to play the piano for that matter. She could show me both. I like this Stevie Wonder song superstition and it really makes me want to get up and shake my thang.... and learn to play!!

So I can't believe it, we have a pet. Dan and the kids were out shooting and found this kitten in the mountains. Dan called me and said the kids got you a kitten. She has a hurt eye and really skinny, but I think with a little TLC she will be okay. So here is our new addition Twinkie!

So we've moved into my grandma's house. Being here is fun and all sorts of memories came flooding back. The kids love the yard and going in circles on their bikes. Well I think it's going to start feeling like home soon. I start Walmart tonight, we go to church to finally meet peo ple tommoro, and the kids start school Tuesday. We will get into a routine and feel fine. Manti has been busy fun since we got here. I think that's why the kids are enjoying it so much. We've been to palisades, fourwheeling, bbq, bike rides, lots of cousin time, and movies. Ethan is going to start flag football and Kirsten dance. Dylan gets to start preschool and ride the bus. He loves that and so do I. I don't have to go to school 5 times a day. Melody and I are going to car pool too. I miss you guys. I just wanted to say we made it, and we are trying to get settled. Thank you Yvonne and Carol for your help and guys for the move. It was quite the ride here, 3 bathroom stops, (love potty trained 2 year olds!) the van was almost over heating, so we were dying of heat with the air off and on. But we finally arrived at 7pm and dinner and family was waiting for us. We appreciate that. I cried alot on the drive here, and it brought back memories of coming to college. I eventually absolutley loved Snow, so I know it will happen again. Take care. Now are blogs will really be fun to see!

We sure did enjoy our first home. I am grateful for the wonderful neighbors we had, awesome ward we were in, the safety we felt in our home, my double sided fire place with the BIG clock!, for my kids to go to Cozine Elem. and becasue of it my kids experienced a full life circle moment with me. Steve Cozine was my neighor & teacher in 2 grade. We will miss Las Vegas, and are excited for the next chapter in our lives. We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.

Flash back: Ethan was running down the drive way in circles & almost headed out into the street. I was running after him to stop and I TRIPPED but I was pregnant with Kirsten and all I thought was don't land on your tummy. Ethan stopped and I pushed into him and he hit his head on the side of the house and split it open. Today: Dylan was messing around with Ethan and TRIPPED and fell against a bench at grandma's. Thank goodness for butterfly bandages, and a cut in the eyelid, because I can only imagine the cost of stitches with no insurance.

My mom took us to Lance Burton last night. It was a good show with great seats. Row 7! Lance even reappeared behind Dan! then a chandelier almost came down on us. We ended the date with a midnight treat. Thanks mom we had a fun night.

Working 9 to 5!

Well not really. More like 9 to 5 hours a week! Dan finally got AutoCAD running and working. So he started his first project from home. Dan's working at home, something he's always wanted to do. It will be a great side job, once he gets a full time job too.

Carson got baptized last weekend. It was fun to be with family. Brooklyn was too funny and didn't want to take the picture, so she wouldn't stand by us! Crafts as us sister's called it was fun at Home Depot. The men say a "project"! Can't wait to see you all in a couple of weeks for the BREAKING DAWN Release! (oh & anniversary party!)

We celebrated the 4th at the park with 2,000 other people! It wasn't bad at all. We had a good time listening to the concert and enjoying the free activities for the kids. And of course the FIREWORKS!!

Okay I finished reading it. I think I might be the last one on the bandwagon with this book. It just put questions in my mind now that Breaking Dawn might not end how I wanted. Yes I know they are different stories and characters but I want an ending like the Host and I don't think Stephenie would do that twice. Not very original. Anyone else agree?

Humble Thyself and have Faith

I'm sure those of you who look at our blog already know, but yes it's official Dan has been laid off! It came as a surprise and very fast yesterday. We had the missionaries over for dinner the night before and we were discussing humbling yourselves and having faith. It's amazing to me the warnings Heavenly Father has given Dan & I right before we have had a few trials in our lives. I have definitely humbled myself to Heavenly Father today and have faith that His hand is in this and there is another plan for Dan & I. We have great family who has already offered jobs to Dan, and great friends who are bringing over dinner and calling us letting us know their husbands jobs are hiring. Once again having my job is a blessing for us and we are greatful. The only sacry part is wondering where our journey is going to take us next. We love you all.
